Alternative economy

For us, people are at the centre of the economy. We understand economic activity as something oriented towards the needs of people. This includes not only production for the market and collaboration between companies, but also mutual support in the neighbourhood and in domestic work. Transformative economies promote social cohesion by sharing goods, services, spaces, knowledge and responsibilities.
On this basis, ecological solutions can be found and economic resilience strengthened. From this perspective, we promote, accompany and research new forms of business and economic concepts in urban and regional development. A special focus for us is nutrition. We research alternative food networks, initiatives such as Edible Cities and Towns, and social practices of eating, and deal with sustainable food systems.
