UniNEtZ
SDG 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities
Duration: 01/2019 - 10/2025
Partners: Austrian Universities and research institutions
Contact person: Univ.-Prof. Dr. Anke Strüver
Description:
The project UniNEtZ - Universities and Sustainable Development Goals is a project initiated by the "Alliance of Sustainable Universities in Austria", in which a total of 15 universities (as of 2020) have joined together to form a platform since 2012. The aim of the UniNEtZ project is to draw up an options paper for the Austrian federal government that identifies and evaluates future-oriented options for action in line with the implementation decided by the Council of Ministers. In the sense of a short-term interim goal, this should support the Republic of Austria in its obligation to report to the UN High Level Political Forum (HLPF) in spring 2020. At the same time, however, the implementation of sustainable development in Austria is the main objective. This will result in desirable synergies - e.g. improved interdisciplinary networking and increased cooperation between the universities and the non-university research institutions or subordinate departments particularly relevant to the Science Ministry - and the joint identification of research needs and options for action.
Within the framework of UniNEtZ, RCE Graz-Styria, under the direction of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Anke Strüver, has taken over the sponsorship of SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Towns). Further information can be found here.
