Description:
Urban Green Infrastructure can promote public health in a cost-effective manner by improving the ecological quality of urban environments. However, the criteria for green infrastructure functionality differ by social group and type of stakeholder. Yet, these differences have hardly been studied scientifically. Against this background, this project analyzes the social specificity of green infrastructure imaginaries and assesses their ecosystem services, including health impacts. For this purpose, a case study is conducted in Vienna. To better understand social differences of green space imaginaries or scenarios, the project investigates action, perception and feeling spaces as well as socio-economic factors with reference to lifestyle and mentality of social milieus.
