Description:
Social and Solidarity Economies (SSE) have recently been addressed by the EU in terms of social economy regarding strategies for social ecological transformation. The project ClimCoopSuccess investigates the potential that these democratically managed enterprises may have for climate protection.
In this view, the project analyzes good examples across the EU, identifies success factors and elaborates policy recommendations.
Effective climate protection requires technological as well as social innovations. ClimCoopSuccess investigates, which contribution SSE may make to such structural change. Taking into account cooperatives, civic enterprises and social enterprises, ClimCoopSuccess focuses on the role of organizational democracy.
In order to better understand the effect of organizational and legal frameworks, good examples of SEE in selected EU regions will be subject of a multi-step analysis. On that basis, policy recommendations for Austria will be formulated.
