The history of the RCE
Regional Centers of Expertise: "Think globally, act locally"
The Regional Centers of Expertise initiative was launched as part of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014). It strengthens cooperation between local, regional, national and international stakeholders for greater sustainability. The individual RCEs have different focuses and structures. This enables them to provide targeted support for the region-specific key issues of sustainable development.
